CARY, N.C. -- Business leaders from across the state will be in Cary on Tuesday for the North Carolina Real Estate Summit.
They'll hear about the health of North Carolina's housing market.
Hundreds of people from the real estate, construction and banking industries will be at this year's summit.
???????????
The tone of the meeting will be much more positive than in previous years.
???????????
North Carolina's housing market has shown signs of improvement this year, particularly in all of the state's major metro areas.
???????????
According to the State Association of Realtors, existing home sales in May were up 27 percent from 2012 and increased 14 percent above April's figures.
???????????
Attendees will discuss those trends with economists.
???????????
They'll also spend time talking about the impact the legislature's tax reform proposals could have on the real estate industry.
???????????
Experts have said North Carolina's housing market didn't take the same kind of beating other states saw during the recession, and it didn't require as intense of a recovery.
News 14 Carolina will have special coverage of the North Carolina Real Estate Summit throughout the day including in-depth interviews with some of the participants and a full-wrap up Tuesday afternoon.
