No phone launch is complete without a few accessories added to the mix. Samsung had a whole bunch to announce alongside its Galaxy S 4, but only a few were on hand to check out up close and personal. We did, however, find a nice surprise hiding under those glossy white table covers -- a wireless charging pad. Yes, it turns out the the GS 4 does in fact have Qi wireless charging capabilities. Provided its available in your region and your carrier chooses to support it. The charging pad itself has a glossy plastic base that matches the phone, but there's a nice rubbery gray top that keeps the handset from sliding around too much while it's juicing up.
We also got to check out the companion wireless scale that looks quite a bit like the Fitbit Aria. Though, with a square LCD and a healthy-sized Samsung logo on it. The scale is just one part of the larger S Health equation which also includes a Jawbone Up-like monitor (S Band), which was sadly nowhere to be found in the demo pit. The scale of course sync with the baked in S Health app over Bluetooth, which makes it quite a bit easier to track how that diet of yours is going. In addition to simply tracking your total poundage, there will be bands for tracking heart rate and the S 4's various sensor can help judge the comfort level of your environment. The requisite glut of photos can be found below in the gallery.
Edgar Alvarez contributed to this report.
Check out our event hub for all the action from Samsung's Galaxy S 4 event.

NASA has just finish testing and integration of its first high-data-rate laser communications system for the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE). The Lunar Laser Communication Demonstration presents a significant upgrade in existing data communications used in space -- with an estimated increase of six times the throughput of the current best radio system. Unlike previous one-way demonstrations, the LCDD uses an infrared beam -- in the same way that many land-based fiber networks do -- that can be received on Earth by one of three telescopes located in Mexico, California or Spain. It's not just about upping the data rate, though, as other challenges include keeping that signal good through conditions your ISP (thankfully) won't normally have to consider, such as pin-point accuracy over 238,900 miles while moving through space. Going forward, the LLCD will play a vital part in NASA's 2017 Laser Communications Relay Demonstration, a key test of laser-based relay comms in future missions. Back here on Earth, however, we never thought we'd get bandwidth-envy this far out in the sticks.

PHILADELPHIA, March 15, 2013 -- The number of U.S. senior medical students choosing categorical internal medicine residencies increased for the fourth consecutive year. According to the 2013 National Resident Matching Program, 3,135 U.S. medical school seniors matched for residency training in internal medicine, a 6.6 percent increase compared to 2012, when 2,941 matched in internal medicine.
The report also showed a continued increase of U.S. medical graduates who matched in Internal Medicine-Primary Care (200 in 2013, 186 in 2012, and 166 in 2011) and in Med-Peds (increased to 312 in 2013, up from 276 in 2012).
"We are pleased that more U.S. medical students are choosing internal medicine residencies and hope the upward trend continues," said Steven Weinberger, MD, FACP, executive vice president and CEO, American College of Physicians (ACP), the nation's largest medical specialty organization. "However, ACP remains concerned about the need to increase the nation's general internal medicine physician workforce to meet the needs of an aging population requiring care for chronic and complex illnesses and the increased number of individuals who will be receiving coverage through the Affordable Care Act."
The 2013 match for internal medicine is still well below the 3,884 U.S. medical school graduates that chose internal medicine residency programs in 1985.
Categorical internal medicine enrollment numbers decreased from 2007 to 2009 (2,680 in 2007; 2,660 in 2008; and 2,632 in 2009) before increasing in 2010 (2,772) and 2011 (2,940). The great majority of current internal medicine residents will ultimately enter a subspecialty of internal medicine, such as cardiology or gastroenterology. Only about 20 to 25 percent of internal medicine residents eventually choose to specialize in general internal medicine, compared with 54 percent in 1998.
Dr. Weinberger also cited problematic payment models and the exorbitant cost of medical education with the resulting financial burden on medical students and residents as barriers to a career in general internal medicine.

FAQ:
1. Why is CHEC hosting this Event?
Our very popular fall HOMESTEAD BOOTCAMP is 'sold-out' every year, and alumni have
requested a similar event for their younger children. At the BOOTCAMP, children attending
with their parents have to be 13 years or?older. The BOOTCAMP is 2 intense days of 90
minute workshops that require maturity and long attention span atypical of younger children.
CHEC's FAMILY HOMESTEAD DAY is in response to these requests for a venue to include
younger family members, so the whole family may attend together in order to gain a unified
homesteading vision. Workshops, called Centers, are only 45 minutes long, and the Event
is a half-day in order to accommodate the abilities and needs of younger children. We
recommend that parents and their age 13 and up children consider returning in the fall to
learn the specific Beginning and Advanced skills taught in the HOMESTEAD BOOTCAMP.
2. Where will the event be held?
BLESSED CREEK FARM is owned and operated by the event co-hosts Cary and Shari
McMinn. The McMinn family members also co-host and lead the CHEC HOMESTEAD
BOOTCAMPand have since it's inception 4 years ago. Their 240 acre dryland farm is located
in the remote northeast corner of Adams County, CO. The farm is 25 miles south of Fort
Morgan, and 35 miles northeast of Byers. Driving times are 1.5 hours from the Denver
metro area; 2.5 hours from Fort Collins and Colorado Springs; 3.5 hours from Pueblo, CO,
southwestern Nebraska, and northwestern Kansas. Directions will be emailed to regisitered
families about a week before the event, along with final instructions.
3. Who should attend CHEC's FAMILY HOMESTEAD DAY?
Families with children of all ages, especially those who have Toddlers through age 12.
Families who are interested in learning more about Homesteading, to grow a vision and to
obtain skills. Both Urban dwellers and rural property holders are encouraged to come.
4. Can my teenagers and adult children attend?
Yes, all ages of children in your immediate family may attend. However, the activities are
geared to children 12 and under. Teens, Adult children, and even Grandparents can assist
the whole family by leading younger siblings in their own group, so the family can attend
more than just one or two Centers during each time slot. Adult children and Grandparents
living in your home are included in your registration.
5. How is FAMILY HOMESTEAD DAY different from the HOMESTEAD BOOTCAMP?
The DAY event is open to the whole family. Therefore each the workshops are only 45
minutes long, so as to accommodate younger children who have a shorter attention span.
The DAY is actually a half day event; families choose to attend ONE SESSION, either in the
MORNING or the AFTERNOON. The workshops are called Activity Centers, and are basically
a 'light' version of what is taught at the BOOTCAMP event.
6. Will there be fellowship time with other like-minded families?
Yes, families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and either stay after the MORNING
SESSION, or come early for the AFTERNOON SESSION, in order to eat and fellowship with
other families doing the same.
7. Will there be breaks between the ACTIVITY CENTERS, and what about facilities?
Each 45 minute Center will have a 15 minute break afterward, in order to have a quick water
or snack break, use the outdoor privy facilities, and walk to the next workshop.
8. Will we get to see and learn about the livestock?
Yes, the first Center of the MORNING SESSION, and the last Center of the AFTERNOON
SESSION will be helping the McMinn family feed their various livestock herds. This will
enable families attending to learn about caring for cattle and horses; milk cows and goats;
poultry and rabbits; sheep and swine. Those who want to, can feed and touch some of
the more docile animals. Each Livestock Feeding Center will be focused on two types of
livestock, so if a family can split into 4 groups, they will learn about caring for all the livestock.
Remember, teens and adult children can assist their parents by leading a group of younger
siblings on their own.
9. What is the cost?
The registration fee per household is $60. for one half-day SESSION. This includes your
entire immediate family, including adult children and Grandparents LIVING WITHIN your
home. Adult children, Grandparents or other relatives LIVING OUTSIDE your home need to
register as their own household.
10. Are singles welcome?
Yes, but we prefer they attend the Fall HOMESTEAD BOOTCAMP, as they will learn so many
more skills. Also, we want to limit the HOMESTEAD DAY registration to 20 households per
Session. A single person would then take the spot that could be for an entire family.
11. What should we wear? What should we bring?
You and your family members should dress for the weather forecast for either Byers or Fort
Morgan, CO. Layers are suggested as it can be cold in the early morning and evening, yet
hot during the day. Bring a rain jacket just in case. We suggest sunglasses and/or sunhat,
sunscreen, and footwear that can get muddy and is also sturdy when shoveling, or walking
on rough pasture ground. Tennis shoes are acceptable, boots are better; sandals and flip
flops are not acceptable. Please wear old clothes that can get dirty. If you have work gloves,
bring them. If you bring a picnic lunch, we suggest you also bring a ground blanket or folding
chairs. If your family is used to a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack, bring something that can
be quickly enjoyed during our 15 minute breaks.
EACH REGISTERED FAMILY IS ASKED TO BRING FOR A SHARED STOCKPILE:
1) A CASE OF WATER BOTTLES
2) A MULTI-PAK OF TOILET PAPER
12. What if it rains?
Unless roads are impassable, we will still hold the HOMESTEAD DAY. If we have to 'rain
delay', we will hold the event the following Saturday May 25. If you can't come that day, you
may transfer your registration to another family. We will not be giving out 'rain delay' refunds,
so please try to plan ahead to attend the 'rain delay' of May 25, just in case. If our 25 miles
of gravel roads are not safe, we will make a decision to 'rain delay' by 7pm Friday, and email
everyone who has registered. PLEASE mark your calendar now to check your email May 17,
Friday evening after 7pm, to verify that road conditions are indeed safe to hold the event as
scheduled, or if we must 'rain delay'.
13. We live in the city; how would this event benefit our family?
Urban homesteading is vital to the 95% of our nation's population that live in the city.
Whether you have a large city lot, a small front yard and no backyard, or even if you are
an apartment dweller, you can still learn homesteading skills to benefit your family. We will
have several demonstrations of small gardens, container gardens, even gardens growing on
carpet and in aquariums! Rabbits can easily be raised for meat and fur in an apartment, and
most cities now allow chickens. Gardening can happen just about anywhere, so there will be
something for everyone to learn.
As economic times grow more uncertain, and the government regulates more areas of our
lives, a family who can provide their own food through gardening and livestock raising, is less
dependent on the outside world.
14. We are not Christians, and we do not homeschool; can we still register and attend?
Yes, you are welcome to come join us for a great day of learning and fellowship. We will be
teaching from a Christian Creation Worldview, but that should not hold you and your children
back from learning basic homesteading skills. The majority of families who attend will be
homeschoolers, so you will learn about that lifestyle, but your family has to decide for yourself
what education method works best for you and your children.

Perhaps more than any other genre, first-person shooters (FPS) reward accuracy and swiftly punish imprecision. Even gamers blessed with the most cat-like of reflexes know that you can only go so far without the right weaponry in your arsenal. Enter the Corsair Vengeance M65 ($69.99 list), an updated version of the excellent Corsair Vengeance M60??that retains the former?s wicked design while upping the laser sensitivity to 8,200dpi. With a dedicated sniper button that instantly lowers the DPI on the fly and on-board profile storage, it's a great choice for first person enthusiasts and our newest Editors' Choice for gaming mice.
Design and Features
A contoured aluminum unibody forms the core of the M65's design. Three plastic pieces partially cover it in a way that allows its metallic frame to be slightly visible through an opening in the rear. This creates a futuristic look that nonetheless maintains an elegant simplicity that stands in contrast to the LED-covered surface seen on other mice like the Roccat Kone XTD. The M65's surface is constructed from a soft-touch plastic that doesn't attract any noticeable oil buildup after prolonged use. The pinky rest and thumb cradles, meanwhile, have a more coarse texture to provide a better grip.
Five smooth plastic glide pads on the bottom effectively minimize drag during movement, making the M65 a smooth operator with or without a mouse pad. Like many gaming mice, the M65 also sports three removable weights in its underside, so users can fine-tune its mass to match their preference. Since it's not ambidextrously designed, lefties get no love from the M65. Left-handed gamers should check out the Roccat Lua Tri-Button Gaming Mouse. The M65 is available in black, green, and the arctic white of our review unit.
Nestled between the M65's left- and right- click buttons is a solid metal, rubberized tracking wheel. With its beefy size and a blue LED light glowing beneath it, the track wheel nicely combines comfort and style. Two additional buttons beneath the track wheel, meanwhile, allow for on-the-fly DPI adjustment. A dedicated sniper button housed in the thumb cradle instantly lowers the M65's DPI to yield maximum accuracy for long-range weapons. Above the sniper button, a pair of buttons above on the crest of the thumb cradle come pre-configured as "forward" and "back" buttons.
The M65 is a wired mouse that connects via a tangle-free braided USB 3.0 chord. It doesn't offer a wireless option. However, since wired mice offer a higher level of accuracy than their wireless counterparts by providing a direct, interference-free connection to your PC, this isn't really a puzzling omission in a genre where precision reigns supreme. Moreover, its wired connection eliminates concerns over batteries and dongles, so gamers can focus entirely on more immediate concerns like blasting away foes. Corsair covers the M65 with a two-year warranty.
Performance
Armed with a laser sensor with a maximum DPI of 8,200, the M65 can be tuned to a level of hyper-sensitivity equal to that of the Roccat Kone XTD (8,200dpi). Moreover, our testing confirmed its advertised polling rate of 1,000Hz. Combine this lag-free responsiveness with a highly precise laser sensor, and you've got a solid mouse for even the most competitive of gamers.
The M65's internal memory allows gamers to store multiple profiles onboard, though they'll first need to download the free control panel software from Corsair's website. Although the M65 works with both Windows and Mac systems, the control panel software is Windows-only (Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8).?
The dedicated sniper button is the only embellishment that distinguishes the M65 from a standard mouse. While this highlights the fact that the M65's functionality is nowhere near as acute as its precision, it's entirely consistent with its first-person shooter leanings. Were this an MMO mouse, the dearth of programmable buttons would be an entirely different story. Still, it's possible to pack loads of functionality into a mouse without cramming buttons all over the surface, as we saw with the Kone XTD's innovative EasyShift[+] feature.
I took the M65 out for a spin with a few sessions of Team Fortress 2. Although I'm still terrible at first-person shooters, the M65 quickly proved its worth. Its laser sensor yielded smooth movement on high DPI settings without exhibiting any lag. Moreover, it felt comfortable in my hand on and off the gaming grid thanks to its soft-touch texture surface and heightened profile, which I generally prefer over mice with lower profiles like the Razer Taipan. ?
The Corsair Vengeance M65 is a great mouse for first-person-shooter enthusiasts looking to step their game up on the gaming grid thanks to its highly accurate tracking, dedicated sniper button, and overall killer design. By improving the already excellent Vengeance M60, it's a shoo-in as our Editors' Choice for gaming mice geared toward first-person-shooter games.

The?floor stapler??tends to make something which utilized to be severe discomfort really easy and easy. In contrast towards the staplers you might be familiar with, the floor stapler comes with a few additional attributes. The device is designed to hook in to the tongue of the floor plank to hold by itself in place. When you whack it with a mallet, the ground stapler staples the plank towards the underlayment. The truly intelligent factor about these is that they hearth their staples in a ideal 45 levels the moment the plank is forced as tight as may be towards its neighbor. This implies there is small possibility of a niche displaying up, at any time.
?
When beginning a hardwood floor job, the hardest part of using a flooring stapler isn?t getting the tool prepared. That is just a make a difference of sliding a strip of staples in to the journal and after that jacking within the air provide.
?
The difficult component is getting flooring prepared. It generally takes two to three courses of wooden before there is enough space to maneuver the ground stapler into location. Till that is prepared to go, I generally begin by drilling and countersinking holes for decking screws to keep the planks in place. I could make use of a normal nailgun, but screws possess a few important advantages. It is a lot simpler to plug the countersunk holes later on, and so they do not danger cracking even really hard wood. Screws also outcome inside a much much more solidly mounted board. If I get some really warped ?banana wood? early on within the occupation, I may need to make use of a pry bar to hold them flat. If that happens, I want the first couple of boards to be mounted as strong as can be in order they can hold towards the power.
?
Following about three or 4 courses, there?s sufficient area to get the stapler in position and also the function goes quick. All I?ve to do is set the stapler down along with every new course. The stapler?s physique sits along with the board and retains it down. The stapler?s entrance lip hooks the board?s tongue. A gentle tap using the mallet around the stapler then makes sure everything in place? I said a mild tap, simply because anything greater than that could mark the boards or harm the stapler.
?
Once the stapler is firmly in place, I swing the mallet down onto the actuator pad in a great solid strike. This transfers sufficient power towards the boards to push them in position gymnasium-tight the exact instant the staple is fired from the gun. Because the boards are held tight against one another, the staple shoots through the free 1 and secures it towards the underlayment, completely aligned.
?
Now it is just a make a difference of repeating these actions every foot or so. As soon as issues get close to the wall, I generally use decking screws for the final step to avoid the risk of hitting the wall with the mallet. Once the whole flooring is done, I pull out the established of tapered plug cutters from my toolbox and make some plugs from the brief scrap of floor plank. These get glued in position over all the screw holes, along with a belt sander sands them flush.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Retail sales rose solidly in February as Americans bought automobiles and other goods even as they paid more for gasoline, suggesting consumer spending this quarter will hold up despite higher taxes.
The Commerce Department said on Wednesday retail sales increased 1.1 percent, the largest rise since September, after a revised 0.2 percent gain in January.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected retail sales to rise 0.5 percent last month after a previously reported 0.1 percent gain in January.
So-called core sales, which strip out automobiles, gasoline and building materials and correspond most closely with the consumer spending component of gross domestic product, rose 0.4 percent after advancing 0.3 percent in January.
U.S. stock index futures erased earlier losses, while prices for Treasury debt fell. The dollar rose against the yen and extended gains versus the euro.
The retail sales data was the latest to suggest momentum in the economy as fiscal policy tightened, marked by the end of a 2 percent payroll tax cut and an increase in tax rates for wealthy Americans on January 1.
Job gains accelerated in February and manufacturing put in its best performance in 1-1/2 years.
"The data add to the view that the U.S. economy continues to show reassuring resilience in the face of fiscal headwinds, and that consumers will help drive a further upturn in the economy in the first quarter," said Chris Williamson, chief economist at Markit.
The gains in core sales in the first two months of the year offered hope that consumer spending would probably not slow much this quarter after growing at a 2.1 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter. Consumer spending accounts for about 70 percent of the U.S. economy.
That should help boost economic growth after output barely expanded in the last three months of 2012.
Barclays raised its first-quarter growth estimate by three tenths of a percentage point to 2.2 percent after the upbeat retail sales report.

Encompassing over a mile in length and totaling over 101 acres, Paumalu ranges in altitude from 400 feet above sea level to up to 600 feet. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Singapore's police have pledged to share with the FBI evidence they collected in the death of Shane Todd, an American engineer found hanged in his Singapore apartment in June, Singaporean foreign minister, K. Shanmugam, said on Tuesday.
Todd's death is at the center of what has become a delicate bilateral issue between Singapore and the United States.
Senator Max Baucus, who represents Todd's home state of Montana, has been pressing for more U.S. involvement into the inquiry into his death. He said he would "stop at nothing" to satisfy Todd's parents or determine that there had been no transfer of technology that might jeopardize U.S. national security.
"Today's meeting is about getting answers, getting complete answers," said Baucus, who is also chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, which oversees trade deals.
"So far we're unable to get the answers we need to know what happened to Shane, Shane Todd. We're unable to know the degree to which there might have been some breach of national security. So far answers have not been forthcoming," Baucus said.
Todd's parents contend the 31-year-old's death was not a suicide, but that he was murdered because of his involvement in a project between Singapore's Institute of Microelectronics, or IME, and the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei shortly before his death.
Shanmugam and Singapore's ambassador to the United States, Ashok Kumar Mirpuri, met with Baucus at his Senate office and then held a news conference about Todd's case. Shanmugan was meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry on issues including the case on Wednesday.
"We are committed to working with and making it clear exactly what happened and getting to the bottom of it," Shanmugan said.
"The Singapore police force will be happy to share the evidence it has obtained and the FBI can look through it," he said.
He said all of the government's evidence would be presented for public enquiry, where Todd's family could hire lawyers and take part, and that Singapore had felt it was inappropriate to discuss the case before the enquiry.
Huawei said last month it had not worked with an institute in Singapore on any projects in Todd's field of expertise, which was Gallium Nitride (GaN), an advanced semiconductor material that has both commercial and military purposes.
Shanmugan said the IME is subject to "very rigorous audit" to ensure there was no improper transfer of technology. "We are very happy for a U.S. team to come down and look at the projects and it will be very clear that there was no transfer of technology."
